Brooklyn Gin

$ 53.00
Brooklyn Gin is made with only fresh, hand-cut citrus peel and juniper berries, cracked by hand to preserve the super-flavorful essential oils. This method requires a lot of manual labor, but it's apparently worth it, because the result is fresh, vibrant, citrus-forward flavor. The folks at Brooklyn Gin buy their produce from local Brooklyn markets and make the neutral base spirit with 100% corn grown in upstate New York. It takes them three days to make just 300 bottles. Now that's small-batch! tip of the tongue Gin is almost always mixed into a cocktail, but Brooklyn Gin also tastes great by itself. The gorgeous bottle honoring our favorite borough is especially gift-worthy. Did you know? Gin can be infused with a wide variety of botanicals, but it MUST contain juniper berries, which are responsible for that distinct, piney, gin-y flavor.

JCOCO Rainbow Chocolate Set

$ 65.00
At our weekly Friday tastings here at Mouth, we have to admit we eat with our eyes first. Suckers for appealing packaging, we were downright giddy when this stack of rainbowliciousness arrived. Each colorful package contains three bars, individually-wrapped with 1970's fashion photography. Giddy! The chocolate itself does not disappoint. Each totally unique but crowd-pleasing flavor is more outstanding than the next. Black fig and pistachio? Spicy orange? Giddy. This is an awesome gift, particularly ideal for those who organize their bookshelves by color. Or for leprechauns. Or, just for chocolate lovers.

The Pok Pok Cookbook

$ 35.00
Andy Ricker opened Pok Pok restaurant in Portland in 2005, after decades traveling throughout Thailand, and has since opened six more, one of which is about a mile away from Mouth (good luck getting in!) . He's now - finally - sharing his secrets with the rest of us in this beautiful new cookbook. The book includes 70 of Ricker's most popular recipes-ranging from curry noodle soup with chicken to papaya salad their famous fish-sauce wings. There are also wonderful essays about his travels and life experiences. And, by the time you've worked your way through the book, it's as if you've received a masters in Thai cooking! Here's what Anthony Bourdain has to say: "This book, as far as I'm concerned, is an argument ender. When Andy says 'make som tam lao like this,' it's like Jacques Pepin telling you how to make an omelette. The matter is settled. Previously, I would never have even attempted to prepare most of these dishes in my home. I had always felt that Thai food was best left to the experts. But this book has given me hope and confidence." tip of the tongue Pok Pok? It's the sound a wooden pestle makes when it strikes a clay mortar!

Apartment Therapy: Complete + Happy Home

$ 35.00
As lovers of great design, aspirers to total organization and secret pinners to hundreds of decor boards, we can't get enough of the round-the-clock advice on Apartment Therapy. Our longtime friend Maxwell Ryan, the original "apartment therapist" here in New York City, founded the site as a source for expertise, inspiration and innovation in a place with many definitions but one universal meaning: home. "A complete and happy home is so much more than a series of pretty rooms" - so say Maxwell and Apartment Therapy Executive Editor Janel Laban in the opening pages of our new favorite home design book. We couldn't agree more. Complete + Happy Home is a DIY textbook of sorts, offering easy tips for setting up the right flow in the living room (beware of "bowling-alley syndrome!") , painting and wallpapering tricks for making a tiny bathroom feel bigger, color-coding our eternally messy home office and, of course, not letting "We don't have a lawn!" be the final say on growing greens. This is a first for us! In fact, we couldn't keep our noses out of this gorgeous new book, so we asked Apartment Therapy to curate a collection of tasty kits for instant at-home entertaining. These pages are packed with beautiful photos of inspiring indoor and outdoor spaces, taken by photographer Melanie Acevedo with the help of trendy homeowners nationwide. Home envy, commence! TIP OF THE TONGUE Though this isn't a cookbook to keep in your kitchen, it's full of tips to revamp that hallowed room of deliciousness. Flip to chapter 14 and join us in geeking out over a table made from an old door, and decorations inspired by Neapolitan ice cream (yes!) .

George Motz's Great American Burger Kit

$ 81.00
George Motz is more than just a good friend and a super dad - he's our favorite hamburger expert, author and filmmaker. (Isn't it so cool that that's a job now?!) He's endlessly experimented with the countless ways America's most popular sandwich can be cooked, topped and presented. So you can imagine how thrilled we were to get our hands on George's second book, full of tips and recipes for the well known and the obscure-but-totally-delicious regional burgers across the nation. We're proud to offer this inaugural cookbook at Mouth, along with a George-curated kit of indie basics that guarantee a great American hamburger, every time. This set includes bourbon-smoked sea salt for patty perfection; french onion confit to rival even the most caramelized grilled onions; classic grain mustard; traditional dill pickle slices; and, of course, The Great American Burger Book: How to Make Authentic Regional Hamburgers at Home. No matter what burger style your region claims, follow George's foolproof method for all-American "pub burger" greatness at home. We promise you it'll make your mouth water: 1. Now you're cooking! "When you cook a burger on a flat-top griddle or in a cast-iron skillet, it cooks in its own juices - you can almost consider it hamburger confit - and the juice becomes the burger's own condiment. Your job, then, is to elevate that moment. You get these super beefy flavors happening and then the question is, 'Where do you go from there?' The simple answer is: salt." 2. Earn your salt. "Season the burgers after dropping them on the grill, to help the physical process of cooking. Bourbon smoked salt is packed with a lot of smoky flavor, but use it sparingly, because the crystals are huge! Salting too early will bind the muscle fibers together and make your burger tough (yuck) ." 3. Flip it good. "Flipping is the key to success, and also the part people screw up most often. Don't be a hero and try to figure this out on your own - there is science going on here! Liqu
